My ds has Sen, he has learning difficulties, autism and complex needs. The guidance from the government changed earlier this week so people like him could leave the house more than once if it's for a health need.

He has no road sense and it is documented in his ehc that he needs to learn road safety. We (dh and I) show him the pavement and say "this is the pavement", he repeats it, we ask him what it us and do the same with the road, cars vans etc. Then show him how to cross the road.

Today we went out on our cul de sac (6 houses in total, 3 either side with a turning area at the end), we didn't see anyone around. He manage to get away from us and ran to the turning area, we didn't realise but a family from the house at the end had their door open and were just about to go out for exercise. He ran towards them and got very close to one of them. So close that when I caught him to take him away my arm brushed against him. The family are lovely and I trust that they've been very keen on following the rules and social distancing as I saw the man before lockdown and he said he was already distancing.

We've been very isolated;food deliveries, out for a walk once (decided it wasn't worth the risk with joggers, dog walkers etc) and driving to my grans to leave food for her but still keeping distance.

Right now I feel like a complete idiot and I'm worried about the what ifs.

Just needed to vent.
