Yes

MuthaFunka61 · 10/04/2020 20:29

Yup

Greenbutterlfy566 · 10/04/2020 20:31

Thankyou. Didn't know if I was being paranoid.

The rule is 2metres away. Why are you worried about someone being 6 - 7m away?

Floatyboat · 10/04/2020 20:33

It is legal certainly. Whether it is desirable or better avoided is more murky. Depends on the details basically.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 10/04/2020 20:33

Keep thinking that maybe they haven't got the distance correct and maybe should be further away but i suppose that's my paranoia.

I think mine may be closer but it's hard to tell when the fence is in the way!

MiniMaxi · 10/04/2020 20:38

The 2m thing isn’t correct - there is a recent “cough ballistics” study that shows (I think) a cough carries 6m and a sneeze 10m or something like that. I think 2m was found to be ok for breath. However I probably would use the garden in your situ.

Floatyboat · 10/04/2020 20:39

And the 2m role doesn't account for people moving and droplets having hang-time.

Concerned12345 · 10/04/2020 20:40

My neighbour often pops their head over the fence... That makes me paranoid ConfusedHmm😂

EmmaGrundyForPM · 10/04/2020 20:43

we have a 6ft high wooden fence between us and our neighbours. I'm very happy using my garden and incredibly grateful that we've got outside space.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 10/04/2020 21:40

Thankyou

Well I suppose it might be a problem if you spontaneously combust?

Topseyt · 10/04/2020 21:48

Perfectly fine. I'd just be grateful for having the outdoor space. Plenty of people don't have one, and I think at the moment it does make life a little more bearable.

Same here @Scruffyoak. We were either side of the fence the other day but by the time I realised it was a bit late! I’m not popping my head over to see where he is every time I want to use the garden. Ours is only just over 2m wide anyway (maisonette with gardens alongside each other) so I doubt very much we’ll always be 2m away from a neighbour
