Anyone else: mild fever for 24 days, no other real symptoms

My DD12 has now had a mild fever for most of the last 24 days. It cycles between normal and about 38.0 but the longest without a fever at all has been 36 hours. She feels fine, occasionally a scratchy throat but it hasn't developed into anything. No cough.

Spoke to GP on phone yesterday who said very few confirmed cases of COVID19 in our area. Suggested a urine test for infection so we will drop one off on Tuesday.

Has anyone else had mild but long lasting symptoms like this? It seems so odd. Her sister and I had a mild fever for 24 hours but then it passed completely.

Unfortunately, I have had several months/years of waking up with a temperature of 38.0. It appears to be autoimmune as it was treated successfully with RA drugs and immunomodulators.

Does she have any other (vague or apparently unrelated) symptoms, e.g. tiredness, rash?

No rash. The GP did ask about that. A bit tired but not excessively so, we all seem a bit sleepy on lockdown. She is rarely ill, the odd tummy bug but has an inhaler for wheeziness after exercise. I have psoriasis which is an auto immune disorder but she hasn't shown signs of it yet.

I'm rarely 'ill' in the conventional sense and my father had psoriasis. My innate (we think) immune system is overactive (hence, the chronic fevers), which means that - under normal circumstances - I'm quick to shake off infections.

I'd follow the GP's advice - test for obvious infections and go on investigating the possible causes from there. It doesn't sound like the accounts of COVID-19 here or elsewhere, and there are lots of other things that can cause chronic fevers.

P.S. Do take this seriously because there is AFAIK a very small chance of it being leukaemia. We know mine isn't because I've had it for six years and it doesn't show up on relevant blood tests.

I've checked the other symptoms for leukaemia and she doesn't have any so hopefully it's a very small chance!
