I work three to four afternoon shifts as a support worker in a care home for the elderly 2pm-6pm and min wage so not earning a great deal obviously.
I've worked here for 6years and I love my role.
I'm bricking it about corinavirus and can't sleep worrying I'm going to catch it either on my commute to/from work or from one of my colleagues whilst I'm working as we can't really social distance whilst carrying out care in many instances.
I will not be able to claim benefits as I do have savings (an inheritance) above the threshold but I have this set aside for a mortgage and my current wage covers my rent. It would mean using my 'savings' to fritter away on rent and basic living for however long it takes for us to get out of this pandemic and for me to find a new job.
I'm truely terrified and panic before having to leave for work, worried I'll pick up the virus and I'm also panicking about loosing my wage and in the long-term ruining my chances of owning my own home and 'wasting' this money I know I will never have the chance of again.
Advice please.
