Adhd medication and corona.

I was told by Cahms if DS develops symptoms to remove meds as they can make you have tachycardia which corona can also do. So really nervous now anyone else been told this?

To be honest I find my ADHD medication woefully ineffective anyway everytime I have a cold.

I would follow the advice but you can also monitor heart rate if you are concerned.

If he takes short acting medication it wears off in 4 hours.

No we've not had any contact from my sons consultant/GP or anything regarding this. My son takes 3 different type of medication daily for severe ADHD.

Don't know if DS psychiatrist just being cautious and obviously any cold or flu symptoms I'll take him straight off just made me very anxious. XXagatin xl DS takes.

My son has severe adhd and cannot manage himself without his meds .
I don’t think he would choose to stop them .
His dr hasn’t been in touch to say anything
But yes you are right that they can cause tachycardia and so can Coronavirus.

I've heard nothing, though DS goes unmedicated when not at school so he can eat properly

Actually very comforted that no one else has been told this, not as anxious now so thanks to all of you. DS will be continuing his medication but if he gets bad which I'm hoping is doubtful as I am shielding and as a single mum dc have to shield as well.

My ds’s adhd nurse called the other day (we were due a clinic appointment) but she didn’t mention anything about this.

No we haven't been told anything either. DS is on short acting ADHD meds which normally suppress his appetite a little but wear off by end of the day.

Hmm i think im going to ring my sons consultant next week, my lads on a combination of medication, one slow release stimulant and an instant release evening top up, but he recently started on intuniv, which is a 24 hour prolonged release that cant just be stopped, in the same way stimulant medications can be.
