Any nurses out out there who have put themselves forwards for Nhs Nightingale?

As above really, I'm a nurse in the private sector (scrub nurse) I have put my name down with my employers backing to go to the NHS Nightingale in Manchester.

I haven't worked on a ward since qualifying 6 years ago, nearest I have worked to one is a discharge to assess unit.

I have been told it is a level one hospital in Manchester, so it won't be ICU/CCU which makes me feel slightly easier, but still terrified.

Anyone else out there?

Not a nurse but a community heath care assistant (as a part time job during uni). I’ve never worked in a hospital so we’ll see how desperate they are. I’ve also wrote that I’d do any job that they feel I’m suitable for (applying for Birmingham). I’m in my mid twenties in good health therefore I feel like I should (and want to do) my bit. I only applied this afternoon so I’m not sure how long they’ll take to get back to me.

Hi
I applied for Manchester nightingale and got a call back today - I missed the call!
Training starts tomorrow does anyone know a way to get hold of them (tried the regular Nhs professionals number already) as I can’t find a phone number/email.

Hollie089 · 09/04/2020 23:21

@DevonshireCreamTea I don't, sorry. On the email I got however there is training throughout the weekend and then further to be announced. So I wouldn't worry if you don't make it tomorrow.

I have said I can attend all the training Sat/Sun so hopefully will get a call tomorrow...I say hopefully as I sit here incredibly anxious!

My husband has applied for the pharmacy in the London one. Unfortunately he currently has covid19 so isn't going imminently

My fiancé put her name down for Birmingham, she is a respiratory physio, unfortunately, her manager accidentally missed her name off the list, so she can’t go yet. I wanted to put my name down (I’m a clinical scientist), but was too late as I was off work with suspected Covid. If they ask for more people again I will, we don’t have a huge amount of work on at the moment and I just want to feel like I’m making a difference, even if it’s working as a HCA.

Has anyone heard anything back yet?

Hollie089 · 11/04/2020 11:53

@Auntieaunt I've had various emails, I had one form to confirm I could attend training this weekend, one with a broken link, one to fill in my details and then send ID, and then...nothing! Not sure what is going on.
