Window cleaner coming

Would you consider a window cleaner doing their rounds to be an "essential" reason to leave the house?

Our window cleaner came today and I'm quite irritated by it but dont know if I'm being unreasonable

Just leave the cash outside when he is due? You don't have to make contact with him. As others have said, he is simply working, which is allowed.

Please don't be irritated at someone for trying to maintain a living. There are lots of people out there to be irritated at, a hard working window cleaner isn't one of them.
