Taking ibuprofen for other issues

I've been getting menstual migraines for the last few months. Hadn't had the chance to do anything about it previously and it's obviously not a priority now for GP. Normally I take nuforen plus and can manage. DH is really concerned about this and has pleaded with me not to take ibruprofen. But I'm sitting here trying to work from home and I feel so awful I don't think I can work.

What is everyone else doing? We do have paracetamol but it doesn't really help plus I don't want to use up our supply. Last month I had a really bad headache for 3 days and this is the first morning so this could go on for another couple of days.

If you have no current symptoms and are not in a high risk category I would take it. If you were to suspect you were coming down with covid you could stop.

Mind you, I'm assuming it only has a negative effect in 'real time' when you have it. If your DH has heard that having taken it recently affects things, then maybe not.

If its related to fears around Covid, the latest research has suggested it may not be an issue. Its not definitive it makes symptoms worse.

I take naproxen or ibuprofen regularly for pain and my consultant has told me that I should keep taking it. The link isn't very strong and, if you don't have any CV symptoms, there's no reason to stop.

Thank you. We are all fully self-isolating, so I think its low risk. DH is worrying and I get that, but I agree the advice isn't definitive and I can't deal with feeling this bad for the next 3 days.

We have the same issue with dh, who has ripped a calf muscle exercising more than normal!

I am normally the most risk averse person, and have been reading up. I don't see any problem with him taking them for three days or so, whilst the inflamation dies down, as long as he has no other symptoms.

This is so confusing. My rheumatologist told me to stop taking ibuprofen but paracetamol isn't touching my pain. Though I do have asthma so that is probably the difference in my case as technically I am not supposed to take it
