Temperature Increasing

Haven't been to shops or anywhere else for 4 weeks. We started isolating the day Boris announced guidelines for new coughs as DH got one the next day.

Only been for walks in fields. Shopping delivered. I have then dropped off food at parents.

Now I have a temp of 37.5. I can feel it and throat feels scratchy. Bit worried as need to get perscriptions for parents Saturday.

Can you catch general colds without being around people?

Colds are caught in the same way as Coronavirus, in fact the common cold is a type of coronavirus. It's possible that you've caught a common cold or similar just as it's possible that you've caught Coronavirus.

But as you say you've had almost no contact with anyone for 4 weeks, so both are pretty unlikely -- very small risk from food packaging, gates, doors, letters/parcels, etc.

37.5 is still within normal temperature range. Scratchy throat could be hayfever, dryness from being indoors more, etc. I wouldn't worry unless you get a temperature of 37.8 or above, or a cough.
