Why wouldn’t it be? I mean, it’s a bit late now but...

HoffiCoffi13 · 07/04/2020 21:51

Did ours yesterday, it looked like a jungle.

AhoyMrBeaver · 07/04/2020 21:53

Yes, fine. Just be mindful of passersby who might not think to keep a distance.

Davincitoad · 07/04/2020 21:54

We’ve done ours but it’s no where near people

SoooTiredToday · 07/04/2020 21:54

Oh good. I mowed the lawn earlier but we live in a cup de sac of curtain twitchers! And I started to panic mid way through that I was doing something wrong and gossip worthy! Have talked myself into thinking that you should not be out the front of your house (as more likely to come in contact with people!), only the back!

People are bored, it was probably the most exciting thing to happen all day

foamrolling · 07/04/2020 21:56

How would you no be allowed out the front of your house though, when you're allowed to go out for exercise?

Goawayquickly · 07/04/2020 21:56

You’re not doing anything wrong at all, lots of people here are washing cars and windows or weeding the drive. It’s nice to see and hear life going on even if it is from a distance.

JewelTheft · 07/04/2020 21:57

I'd think it's ok from an isolation.pointnof view, but if you have a lot of neighbours working from home (as I do) I might have it until the weekend as the noise might disturb them - it would annoy me if I was working and someone started up a mower.

SouthsideOwl · 07/04/2020 21:59

Oh for the love of god.

HoffiCoffi13 · 07/04/2020 22:28

DH is working from home in a very senior key worker role. Our 1 year old screaming plus our 6 and 4 year olds basically making the noise that 6 and 4 year olds make are far bigger an issue than someone mowing their lawn.

Frankiecandle · 07/04/2020 22:33

Of course you can mow your front lawn, and don't wait until the weekend either.

TheGreatWave · 07/04/2020 22:46

I'm wfh, lots of different noises - a mower wouldn't bother me.

TheGreatWave · 07/04/2020 22:47

And if they are looking out of the window - wave. They are either being nosy and will realise they have been seen, or they are just looking for human interaction and will appreciate it.

Itwasntme1 · 07/04/2020 22:48

My neighbours seem to mow the lawn every day! Will get worse over the summer, people are so bloody bored.

Only problem is lots of people working from home and trying to do conference calls etc. My neighbour power hosed all day while I struggled to get any work done and had to abandon some calls.

Can’t cope with this long term

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 07/04/2020 22:48

Surely unless you had windows open or working outside it wouldn't be an issue? Maybe shut your windows for 20 mins if it's a problem no big deal Confused

Itwasntme1 · 07/04/2020 22:49

Obviously no problem with people, working in their gardens, just the current situations makes it all a bit more difficult.

Itwasntme1 · 07/04/2020 22:51

@Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark your house must be awesome, cos I can clearly a power hose and can’t hear tv etc over it.

But hey let’s not fight. I was just joining a conversation and pointing out he downside of us all being home all the time.

I haven’t figured out how to pedi a passive aggressive smiley face

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 07/04/2020 23:04

I have a tiny crappy house to be fair but have double glazing. Does it not block it out? I wasnt arguing I just presumed with windows closed you'd be OK.

Itwasntme1 · 07/04/2020 23:06

Windows don’t block out power hosing, it’s very very loud and constant. He wears ear defenders.

LabStaff · 08/04/2020 00:02

Oh, our garden bin waste collections have been suspended - haven't everyone's?

Hollyhead · 08/04/2020 05:33

@LabStaff our garden waste collection is still on.
