To those with little dc, how are you handling Easter? We’ve been unable to get eggs, in quarantine because I’m ill and can’t get an online delivery for love nor money.

Any ideas?

Can you ask a neighbour to grab some for you when they do their next shop?

Snowdown24 · 07/04/2020 09:30

Or family can send them to you via courier if they manage to get some from the shops as the shops have loads

Whathappenedtothelego · 07/04/2020 09:33

If I was your neighbour, I'd be happy to get you some.
Do you have any work colleagues, school or nursery friends who could drop some off - or who might know someone who could?

Seriouslyconfused3 · 07/04/2020 09:33

Thanks guys- not a bad shout. Feel a bit bad asking the neighbours but could ask my mum to courier us some I suppose. Dmil lives close by but is now also in self isolation too.

I know it’s nothing major in the grand scheme of things but Dc are so excited

Are the kids school age? Would one of their friends parents drop you a couple off? I’d happily do this for neighbours /friends x

bertiebadger · 07/04/2020 09:40

Thornton's seem to be back online now with delivery before Easter Smile

kingkuta · 07/04/2020 09:41

Thorntons are delivering.

titsmcgee · 07/04/2020 09:42

Thornton's are doing 3 for 2 on eggs with personalised writing if you are getting desperate. Arrived promptly by post for us.

Orangeblossom78 · 07/04/2020 09:43

You could have a little easter egg hunt in the house or garden, ours used to live that when small. You can also hard boil general eggs and die with veg dyes or food colouring, bake biscuits perhaps with them, there are things to do from home Flowers

Tiredmum100 · 07/04/2020 09:46

You can buy online at Cadbury. I joined a queue yesterday, (300,00 + people) managed to buy some eggs and stuff to send to my sister.

Otherwise can you ask in your local Facebook group? I've got a stash of eggs here as I bought ages ago for family and friends dc which I obviously wont be seeing now. I'd happily donate to someone local or add some to my weekly shop and drop off in route home if I was aware someone was after them.

Minesacider · 07/04/2020 09:48

I'd do a shout out on FB to see if anyone going to a shop could pick a couple up for you. A lot of people are asking for similar things, and people seem happy to help where they can.

Seriouslyconfused3 · 07/04/2020 09:49

Thanks guys I might get them a game or something online too and tell them the Easter bunny is running out of chocolate or something. Maybe do a hunt with some little creme or mini eggs if I can get a friend to pick me some up Smile

Sounds good. I once used little moulds and melted normal choc too. Could be bought online (not if ill though, perhaps, feel better soon)

Lumene · 07/04/2020 10:04

Are they old enough to watch this lovely clip from New Zealand about the Easter Bunny this year:

Seriouslyconfused3 · 07/04/2020 20:31

@Lumene I love that thanks Flowers

Churches are shut so it's been cancelled. Though it will probably be resurrected next year.

Lumene · 08/04/2020 09:09

@Seriouslyconfused3 Thornton’s just opened up delivery again at 9am this morning.

Charlottejade89 · 08/04/2020 10:47

I went to aldi yesterday and they still had some small ones down to 75p each and they also had their own brand bunnies for 50p, mini eggs 39p and lots of small eggs to do easter egg hunts with

Dahlietta · 08/04/2020 11:39

OP, do ask someone: a friend or a neighbour. I would be more than happy to do this for anybody who was relatively close by and I think pretty much everyone would feel the same.
