Worried about my mum

My mum is 74 and has started with a persistent cough. Her temperature is normal, but she says her chest feels tight and she is tired after doing the smallest thing. Appetite is fine but persistent headache. I'm worried sick

Please get her to call 111 as she is vulnerable. Has she been self isolating? Has she been out anywhere or been near anyone at all (or someone come to visit her?)

Do the 111 online questions then follow their advice.

No she hasn't been out, but I live with her so have been doing shopping. I don't have any symptoms

Call 111, keep her home as you have done. Try and stay calm. It could be something or nothing. A few days ago I spent a while on the phone to 111 concerned about my dad who had persistent headache and dry mouth, he ended up having a GP phone appointment and after a dose of medication is on the up. Does your mum have any health conditions. Call Out of Hours GP if you struggle to get through to 111. Good luck.

Today she is a little better, not coughing as much but feeling exhausted

They said to keep her home and monitor her temperature and breathing. If she started gasping then to call 999
