Disinfecting streets - hidden dangers?

Some other countries have been out disinfecting streets. I am in the shielded group so have a high chance of dying if I catch corona. We are advised to stay in the house for 12 weeks, although it is made clear this is guidance, not the law.
I have been going out for a short walk when it is dark from my house just for a change of scene. I go when it is dark as there is no one around. I do not touch anything and take off and leave my shoes and jacket in the porch when I come inside.
But seeing coverage of streets being disinfected I am now panicking that maybe this is risky? Can you catch corona from the street? Am I taking a risk from going walks in the dark? And if not why are other governments disinfecting streets?
