Would you cancel this online slot ?

Back ground

House 1 Me - Family of 5 - all healthy
House 2 Mum - Healthy Dad - Late 60’s + Diabetes + and general ill health
House 3 Grandma (Dads Mum) - 88 just recovered from Pneumonia in Feb (not tested). Lives alone

As you know haven’t been able to get online slot (we use weekly prior to this). We’ve been shopping for ourselves with no issues. My Dad has been shopping for his household and my Grandma. He won’t let my Mum goes as likes to be in ‘control’ but if anyone was going to be really poorly from catching CV he would be one of them. Keep moaning they can’t get an slot, at least for my Grandma

I’ve been checking periodically and managed to get one for this week. Hurrah I thought! We’re good for cupboard food and only need some fresh bit - Bread/Milk/Fruit/Veg so could add that and then do an order for my parents/Grandma. Saving a trip for my Dad, that he really shouldn’t be doing.

Let them know and they’ve told me not to worry because Dad likes to go out to the shops (he’s going 3x a week!!)
I’m so cross!! He should even be leaving the house. I’ve asked again this morning and told them I will cancel the slot.

We could do a normal shop but we don’t really ‘need’ it , and I don’t want to waste it, would you cancel it and free it up for another family ?

Any any advice on how to get my Dad to stay in ? He thinks he’s invincible.

My bloody in laws late seventies and mid eighties have suddenly started needing to go to the supermarket three times a week rather than the normal once Hmm

Both should be staying indoors but you can't tell them.
Dh has tried and so has sis in law but they aren't listening.

Let him get on with it op. That's all you can do.

I have exactly the same problem. Managed to book a slot for my dad last week and he made me cancel it. Then yesterday denied that he knew anything about it and said he would never have asked me to cancel.Angry

It’s infuriating isn’t it. I’ve opened up the offer to some friends who I know are struggling right now. I will cancel it if I think it’s a wasted slot though.

Yes I would cancel it.

I'm afraid there isn't much you can do about your dad.
