Are contact lenses still being delivered?

Of course it's not a huge priority, but I don't know if I should be trying to lengthen how many days I wear my disposables for if I won't be sent new ones. Does anybody know if whoever distributes them are still doing so during lockdown? (David Clulow at John Lewis is shut, but presumably they're actually posted by Acuvue?)
Many thanks

Asda opticians are still dispensing lenses in store if you have a copy of your prescription, they also told me that you can order them online for home delivery

My specsavers daily’s arrived in the week

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/04/2020 21:06

I usually pick mine up from the optician - three months at a time - so was wondering this too. (I used to get them delivered but the postman kept putting them to the sorting office, despite the packaging being letterbox designed.) I assume my optician is closed so I can’t have them redirected - now at a different address/postie. I have bought online when I have been caught short before, but pay the optician a small fortune each month by direct debit!

Mine arrived through the post yesterday from Boots.

It is however supposed to be safer to wear your back up glasses.

Wondering same, dd’s Specsavers 3 monthly I thought were due 03/04 but have heard delivery offices holding onto parcels for longer before delivery

MRex · 05/04/2020 21:18

Thanks all, really good to hear that Asda, Boots and specsavers can deliver, that suggests to me that they'll come and I needn't worry. (Also surely they'd have emailed by now if they weren't coming?)

@herecomesthsun - this is true of course, but I have a toddler and my glasses are a point of weakness that can be exploited... Also they aren't exactly the right prescription for one eye and wobble a bit, so ok for one day a week and a few hours here or there, but would drive me crazy if it's months.

Mine have arrived this week, in the post as usual, and I had an email saying that they were hoping to continue with the posting-out service, unless there was an unforeseen supply issue.
I think the actual branch might be shut though?

I never wear my glasses in front on anyone apart from DP; most of my friends don't even know I wear them, so I bloody hope there is no problem with lens supply in the months to come!

Moreisnnogedag · 05/04/2020 21:22

Mine arrived from vision direct without any issue

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 05/04/2020 21:24

I buy mine as and when I need them and got a delivery from Lenstore without any problems

MRex · 06/04/2020 22:56

Ikeameatballs · 06/04/2020 23:07

I buy mine from contactlenses.co.uk I order a years worth a couple of weeks ago and they were delivered grime. Never had any problems with them.

NothingIsWrong · 06/04/2020 23:10

My scrivens ones came yesterday

HippoMumsy · 06/04/2020 23:10

Feel good contacts have an online service that deliver to your door if you know your prescription. They also throw in a wee packet of haribo sweeties in your order ☺️

rainbowlou · 06/04/2020 23:11

Boots emailed me to say they would arrive by Thursday, I’m tempted to order some extra ones just in case they stop deliveries.
My glasses are broken and I cannot function without my lenses.

I haven't worn lenses for 3 weeks now apart from the days I've gone into work. It doesn't seem necessary if I'm at home all day. I'm on my last pair of my monthly lenses but have about 20 pairs of daily disposables atm so I have plenty if I need them.

rosy71 · 06/04/2020 23:14

*I've been wearing glasses instead.
