I’m sorry - I feel a bit dense posting this but I’m genuinely confused and unsure of what to do. My little boy (25 months) developed a dry sounding cough yesterday lunchtime. He is absolutely fine in himself, is eating, drinking and has plenty of dirty and wet nappies as usual and has no temperature or any other concerning symptoms. As a bit of background history, we end up in hospital with viral induced wheeze each and every time he has a common cold - so we’ve been very worried about how he would be if he caught Covid-19, to the point we took him out of nursery a fortnight before lockdown (to prevent him from catching any further colds necessitating hospital treatment and/or catching Covid-19). I am also 5 months pregnant and asthmatic so we’ve been very cautious. Aside from the house and our garden my little one hasn’t been anywhere since 9th March. We’ve had shopping deliveries and has been very careful to wipe food down or leave it a few days before using it. I had an antenatal appointment this week and went alone, wore gloves and a mask and changed my clothes, washed hands etc as soon as I got home, before having contact with my son. So - I’m confused! In the absence of other symptoms, particularly a fever, I’m not sure what this cough is all about. I very much doubt it is the result of any allergies as my son as allergy tested last summer due to all of his hospital admissions with breathing difficulties. Sorry for the long and winding post - I’m just interested in other parents perspectives and wondering if anyone has experienced same with their children?
