Childcare with friend?

DH and I are both emergency service workers so work all kinds of shifts.

The DC’s school will have them during school hours but a friend who lives at the end of my road and is a childminder has offered to have them rather than us send them to school. I’d park outside and beep, she’ll unlock the door and the DC will run into her. When we pick them up I’ll call to say I’m outside and they’ll come out to me.

WWYD? Send them to school or to childminder friend? In school they’ll be mixing with much larger numbers of children than at my friend’s so I’m tempted to take her up on the offer.

It seems obvious to me to put your child with the least people possible, so if that means a childminder then so be it.

In your circumstances your friend seems like the best and safest option by a long shot.

Childminder. Reduces the number of people they’re moving with by a long way, and reduces pressures on teachers and schools.
Will your kids be happy either way?

Thanks all. Childminder it is.

Yes DC are happy either way.
