If exercise is banned because people are rule breaking...

Do you think the people currently breaking the rules will then obey the new rules. Surely it will just stop the people who are social distancing and exercising once a day from home being able to do this?

I think London will go into a stronger lockdown first before a widespread ban.

I think lots of people still don't think it's that's serious or think they are above what is being asked. So they probably still won't follow the guidelines.

Police and army on the streets?

LavenderQuartz · 05/04/2020 15:42

its the easter hols, spring is here, the weather is good....people WILL NOT stay at home from now.....it will only get worse.

further lockdown needs to act now....we need to see people fined for rule breaking....only then will the repeat offenders start to reconsider there selfish behaviour

the shops such as wilkinsons, the range and b&m being fully open are not helping here either.

LavenderQuartz · 05/04/2020 15:46

police have been to my place of work to check we are complying with government guidelines but they were then moaning that the queuing out of the car park into neighbouring streets was a problem

i agree....it was.....all non essential stores being open will bring the people out. they all want stuff for their gardens. until they are also closed the message is its fine to go out for non essentials

ilovecakeandwine · 05/04/2020 15:57

If people are breaking the rules now they will break the rules even if we have tougher rules .
I've just seen on my fb a group of teens playing football and cries of tougher lockdown. Why isn't someone breaking this football match up and handing fines out ?

LangClegsInSpace · 05/04/2020 16:05

They really need to close all non-essential businesses before imposing further restrictions on individuals.

Richwitch · 05/04/2020 16:31

No. No they won't. My scrote of a neighbour still goes on her drug runs. Her son (no fixed abode) still turns up for a fight and stays over as and when he wants to....then leaves and comes back when he wants. Her kids still play in the street and the back alley. She has no reason whatsoever to leave the house....social services bring food etc. She's not going to follow any new rules because there have been no repercussions so far.

I'm in London. I went for an hour's walk this afternoon through residential streets. Very few cars but lots of people walking, running and cycling. Plenty of space for everyone and everyone was very respectful of distancing, stepping into the road where necessary.
Those pictures in the parks are not representative of everywhere in London.

France have the right attitude. They actually have the Police Nationale and Gendarmie out setting up check points, checking permits and papers and issuing out fines for offenders.

A small minority of people will keep flouting the rules until someone stops them. Almost like children and boundaries....

Spodge · 05/04/2020 17:33

We don't need further lockdown - we need to enforce the current rules and fine those flouting them.

I suggested army and checkpoints for the UK on another thread and got insulted for it. But it's coming. People are ignoring rules all over the country and this chaos won't end until they stop ignoring them.
