I need advice on what to do about this, as I am very angry but not sure what the guidance is. I don’t live in the UK and guidelines here are different, this would absolutely not be ok here.

A relative and his wife flew to a SE Asian country where they got stuck as they were unable to catch their flight home. They eventually got another flight and knew they needed to go into quarantine, on their return to the UK but they stopped off for groceries (wearing masks). There have been other incidents, in short they don’t appear to be properly quarantining. I know this is not ok, but should someone be reporting it to someone?

I don't think that people are required to properly quarantine in the UK like they are in other countries, you can still go and shop for food.

See here, specifically the part about 'When you return to the UK': www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus#when-you-return-to-the-uk-protect-yourself-and-others

Thanks! Looks like there not much anyone can do. Which is utterly crazy as they just came back from a country which is almost certainly full of Covid! They weren’t allowed into the country where they were supposed to fly back to the UK from because they closed the borders, seems mad that they could just fly straight back to the UK and go to bloody Tesco!
