If you went that is?
My friend works in Sainsbury's and said to me that yesterday the queue was 2 hours to get in.
I went to aldi earlier and had to wait around half an hour. One in one out.

Yesterday in Aldi, 0 minutes, yet again it was a free for all. Unbelievable and disappointing. Come on Aldi 😡

stickerqueen · 04/04/2020 20:47

the queue to get in the tesco metro by me was 40 people long and they was only allowing 1 at a time in so I went to the corner shop instead would have took forever to get in.

Onceateacher · 04/04/2020 20:50

Thanks ringthebells

Wotrewelookinat · 04/04/2020 21:04

Tesco at 6 pm, no queue and most of the shelves full.

tinytemper66 · 04/04/2020 21:04

I have had to queue once since lockdown for about 5 mins.

NeedToKnow101 · 04/04/2020 21:06

Only 10 minutes at Morrison's near me.

DareDevil223 · 04/04/2020 21:09

At a large Sainsburys near me today I queued for under 10 minutes. Pretty quiet and well stocked except for milk and eggs. I haven't been able to buy eggs for 2 weeks now.

parrotonmyshoulder · 04/04/2020 21:09

5.30 pm, Lidl, no queuing and hardly anyone in there.

Charley50 · 04/04/2020 21:12

@SimplySteveRedux - at my Morrison's they let a few old-Ish (not elderly) people, people with small kids, and a person who said they had epilepsy, to the front of the queue.

Sheepareawesome · 04/04/2020 21:21

Since I realised Aldi lets you go to the front if you are a key worker, today was about 30 seconds. There was a queue of about 30 people and it was 1 in, 1 out but I went straight in after showing my NHS ID!

All very civilised, people patiently waiting and keeping apart. Man outside wiping all the trolley handles before passing them to the customers.

As for stock, everything there apart from paracetamol and flour. South West UK.

Went around 12 today to my local big sainsbury's. Queued around 15 mins. It had almost everything I needed.

justanotherneighinparadise · 04/04/2020 21:31

I went to Aldi and Lidl yesterday. Had to go both as I couldn’t get everything I needed in Aldi. I waited around 20 mins each time. The shops were moderately well stocked. Aldi better than Lidl. Tesco Extra up the the road was apparently winding round the car park.

yearinyearout · 04/04/2020 21:32

15 mins or so to get in the large Tesco.

Lauren83 · 04/04/2020 21:34

About 10 minutes today Morrison's

Ariela · 04/04/2020 21:46

Don't need to go to the supermarket, not been for over a week.
Love our corner shop and butchers

Joans3rddaughter · 04/04/2020 21:49

Not supermarket but Boots the Chemist. From joining queue to leaving shop took 1 hour (collecting prescription)
2nd visit , from joining queue to leaving took almost 2 hours ( collecting prescription but there was an issue with the prescription. Only 2 customers allowed in Chemistat any one time.

usernotfound0000 · 04/04/2020 21:55

15 minutes this morning at Morrisons, it's not a massive shop and it was one in one out. Was very well stocked though.

soupmaker · 04/04/2020 22:01

About 10 minutes at Aldi. Very well behaved queue. Was a member of staff operating a open in one out system. Was hand sanitiser to use and cleaning spray for trolley. Was really well stocked, although no long grain rice. Just a shame there seemed to be a number of couples who'd managed to circumvent the one person per trolley rule who were a pain in the arse.

BellatrixLestat · 04/04/2020 22:07

I flashed my work pass and walked straight into Aldi passed the queue today (it was LONG). One of the benefits of still having to go out to work through all this! (I'm a key worker - emergency services)

5 minute queue at M&S. Then the queue at Sainsbury's was so long I decided not to wait and went to Morrisons where I only had to wait a few minutes and got everything I needed.

Bathroom12345 · 04/04/2020 22:11

Why are supermarkets still allowing couples and families- man, women, two over excited kids. Just why???

Zisforstripyoss · 04/04/2020 22:22

My DH "popped" to the local Asda about lunchtime. He queued for an hour. But it was probably peak time!

Peanut55 · 04/04/2020 22:34

About 20 minutes at aldi. Everything was well stocked. People respecting social distancing in the queue outside but it's hard inside when the aisles are small.

I am also short. So I without fail have to ask for help from someone to lift something down for me. Luckily a man was there and I asked for his help, I let him know what I would like and wheeled myself back 2m. He then put it on a lower shelf for me. So kind of him.

No wipes at my Aldi for the trolleys but I took my own anyway.

Greenpop21 · 04/04/2020 22:35

Aldi 5 mins
