Would I know when to call an ambulance?

Hopefully for the people in my household it will be a mild illness but what if one of us is one of the unlucky ones, would it be obvious to me when it moved beyond a nasty cough/flu, to they need medical attention?

I obviously dont want to waste anyone's time but I've heard a couple of stories now where low risk people were left too long before seeking/getting help.

Ive just called an ambulance for my neighbour who is 73 and very breathless. Think it was the right thing to do. Quite scary and very real now - he lives in flat above

R5L doctor was saying a good indication was when patient can’t speak whole sentences for breathlessness and can only gasp fragments.

I've called a number of ambulances during my time (mainly for work)

You just know.

Especially if it's somebody you're close to like family. You know what they're usually like then they're ill and you'll know when they've gone past that.

If you're ever in any doubt whether you need an ambulance call 111. They send ambulances too and will do a questionnaire before sending one.

I was going to ask for that too (or what to search for to find it) - I can't read the text on the photo.
