The biggest impact of Covid-19

This virus is affecting us all, but what is the biggest impact it has had on the world?

Imo, it’s undoubtedly the fact that there’s no live sport. Imagine if there was a game of football or a boxing fight live right now 😅

People losing loved ones to covid. The suffering an economic depression would create.

polorock · 04/04/2020 02:25

It is tremendous worldwide what is going to leave people to think that human actions will change, people will have to lose contact, there will be mutations of the virus without thinking that if it affects someone they love that God does not want, if they die, we do not see it. but not even the body. sad!

MrsJoshNavidi · 04/04/2020 10:26

The "no live sport" thing hasn't impacted me and my family at all.

mindproject · 04/04/2020 10:29

The economic depression will kill far more people. Problem, reaction, solution.

4amWitchingHour · 04/04/2020 10:51

It's a toss up between the huge economic slowdown and reductions in pollution and CO2. I don't think many people give a flying fuck about live sport right now.

Bagelsandbrie · 04/04/2020 10:52

Obviously the people dying from it but also people dying from unrelated conditions who will be unable to get the usual level of care from the NHS they would have otherwise have received.

daisypond · 04/04/2020 10:52

I assume that’s a joke.

batvixen123 · 04/04/2020 10:55

I think more people will die from causes created by the shutdown than do die (and possibly would have died) from COVID-19. We will see a massive spike in deaths from cancer, strokes, heart disease etc and also suicide from people with long term mental health conditions.

Forgone90 · 04/04/2020 11:00

It does seem slightly true on of the articles in the paper today that the world may have just amputated a leg to cure an ingrown toenail.... The pain and Suffering of the economic fallout to this is going to be much much worse than the pain the virus would have caused....

I'm sorry but money makes the world go round and as soon as one country relaxes restrictions so to not tank their economy many many more countries will follow suit... I can't remember where but I read that approx 2 thirds of people that had died from the virus would have died from something else by the end of the year anyway.... And yes it is horrible for those families involved but we could be putting many more people at a greater risk if the economy collapses!

Forgone90 · 04/04/2020 11:01

If the world had put the money pumped into the CV fight into cancer research we would have a cure in 2 years and that would save millions and millions of lives

Hannah021 · 04/04/2020 11:06

Economy. It is hitting everyone around the world. No one, poor or rich, healthy or unhealthy, young or old... Thats not financially impacted by this.
