What do you think she will have to say?

Snowflakes1122 · 03/04/2020 18:46

That she’s donating some of her billions to help fight Coronavirus?!

Probably the usual we will get through this together rubbish to be honest.

Dozer · 03/04/2020 18:46

Unless she’s donating huge sums of “Her” taxpayers’ money for something useful, am not interested!

Genopy · 03/04/2020 18:49

Nothing of any use whatsoever.

LegoBloodyHurts · 03/04/2020 18:50

I don’t really care what fake empathy she will display for the common people whilst she is sat in absolute luxury being waited on. Get your cheque book out, HM

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 03/04/2020 18:50

All of the above. What are they for?

JanewaysBun · 03/04/2020 18:57

Prediction - I reckon she will refer to the broadcast message she'll refer to the speech she and Margaret gave on the eve of WWII about overcoming stuff.

Just a random guess lol!

ShellsAndSunrises · 03/04/2020 18:59

She’s just going to encourage people to follow advice and say that we’ve beaten hard things before and we will again.

She probably didn’t want to say anything, but people keep moaning that she hasn’t done anything... and despite it being so important to them; seemingly missing her statement in mid-March.

She’s a pretty incredible woman, being an engineer and all, but she’s not a scientist.

jenganinja · 03/04/2020 19:00

She's been on MN and seen the criticism of her

AgeLikeWine · 03/04/2020 19:08

“Hello, this is the Queen.
One is very concerned about the current situation in one’s country, but sadly one is dismayed at some of the unfortunate behaviour one is seeing.
As many of you have not listened to the advice of one’s scientific experts, one is now telling you oneself.
Stop being idiots and stay at home or one will have you thrown in the tower.
One has told one’s government to sort their fucking lives out and get a grip of the situation or one will have their heads on spikes outside one’s castle.
Good evening.”

ILLBESUZIE · 03/04/2020 19:30

I'll not be watching. She has nothing to say to me.

BakedCam · 03/04/2020 19:46

Teaforme123 · 03/04/2020 20:26

@AgeLikeWine you have me in stitches 😂

Smithtylater · 05/04/2020 20:04

Feels like Christmas day...but in awful circumstances...

meow1989 · 05/04/2020 20:07

I think that was meant to be uplifting and rallying, actually I found it quite... sombre? Concerning? Pessimistic? In delivery.

Also I'm not sure that the queen has been particuarly affected by the "enormous changes to our lives"...

LavenderQuartz · 05/04/2020 20:08

i wonder if that will be the last time she addresss the public....ever

Frownette · 05/04/2020 20:13

She did look a bit defeated/upset. It was nice in manner, very gentle, and sounded like she meant it.

Smithtylater · 05/04/2020 20:14

I read earlier that this is the 4th time she has done one of these special addresses to the country...

OP posts:
thereisfreedomwithin · 05/04/2020 20:16

Well done Jane!

thereisfreedomwithin · 05/04/2020 20:17

“Also I'm not sure that the queen has been particuarly affected by the "enormous changes to our lives"...”

Her 71 year old son had it....

meow1989 · 05/04/2020 20:21

Yes, and I'm glad he has recovered. Not a royalist but absolutely do not will harm on anyone. (I do not doubt he had access to the most advanced care available mind).

I was more referencing the fact that they've all disappeared to their other estates and dont need to worry about furlough, food, poverty, the effects of not being able to jolly around sprawling well maintained gardens...

IcedPurple · 05/04/2020 20:24

Not a monarchist but thought that was an excellent speech.

Wondering who did her hair and makeup though, assuming she's 'cocooning' as befits a lady her age?

manicinsomniac · 05/04/2020 20:27

Oh, I dozed off and missed her!

Quite sad. I wanted to see it for posterity.

esjee · 05/04/2020 20:34

I've never cared for the Royal family and dk believe they're irrelevant, but she/the speech really displayed a gravitas that is rare among leaders these days.
