Driving Instructor and coronavirus

Can't believe I've just heard that my friend is still continuing to have driving lessons during this Coronavirus lockdown!
She is having one this weekend and i am so angry.
There is no way that the instructor and my friend will be able to practise the social distancing of keeping 2m apart and it is not essential travel.
Yes i get that the Instructor cant work from home but thousands of people are in this position. We are in lockdown!! All the test centres are closed and friend is not a key worker.
Just makes me furious that i am stuck inside separated from seeing my friends and boyfriend trying to follow the rules but yet she is doing this. To make matters worse i have to live with her as a flat mate. Just think how many people the driving Instructor comes into close contact with and then she brings this back into the flat.

Am i right in thinking this is not following lockdown rules?!

It’s not, no but I do feel sorry for those who can’t drive right now.

Public transport has been cut back and sometimes carrying heavy (Eg 1/2 weeks worth) groceries might not be possible in one trip.

However the answer to that isn’t to start to learn to drive now, I mean she can’t even take her test and I assume she has no plans to immediately buy a car so she won’t be able to drive during this pandemic.

Going forward I’m not sure what you can do if she carries on? You’ll have to distance yourself from her as best you can.

Shouldn't be offering driving lessons:
NASP would urge all instructors to stop delivering driving lessons, if you have not already done so, with the exception of teaching key workers where necessary. This should be until the end of April and then we can then all review the situation again.

Thanks for that. The official guidance is great thank you.

Annoyingly she isnt at work at the minute so doesnt need to travel anywhere on public transport either. If she does meed to work she gets lifts in/car share and all our food shopping is already sorted for at least the next 3 weeks. She has literally 0 need to leave the house other than for her daiky exercise if and when required.

Have you spoken to her about this?
