So we have 40 tablets. Ten each.
What do people suggest is the 'appropriate' amount to keep.

Depends what you need them for.

Barbararara · 03/04/2020 17:58

If you get sick enough to need to take a max daily dose of 8 a day, you currently have enough for one person for five days.

I buy mine at Costco, 325 500mg caplets per container. Generally 2-6 adults in our home and will last a year.
Couldn’t imagine having less than 100.

I have about 100, as for some reason when I left hospital I was prescribed some alongside the other medication I needed, and I didn't realise until I opened the bag at home. This was a while ago now, and as there have been shortages lately I have been asking if anyone needs any, funny enough people seem oddly suspicious and say no!

I would say three days each, so about 96 tablets. Although this depends on if you will use it even if you don't get ill with corona virus. If you won't use it I'd keep less in because of the waste

None Grin

I genuinely thought we had more. I think I will try to get two boxes per person in that case. (32 each)

What do you need them for? If anyone needs them regularly then you don't have enough. If they are just in the cupboard in case someone needs them then you have enough. I don't think we have any. There might be a scruffy squashed box in my glove box Blush

I have 16, but I doubt they'll be used before the expiry. I've had them for 8 months already.
I think 40 is enough, unless all 4 of you suddenly need to take 8 a day and are self isolating so can't get more.

DP picked up a packet at pharmacy while out with dog. Had his name and address taken and prescription style label put on them. Good system, I guess, in these times as none available locally last few weeks.
