The latest conspiracy - that you can’t even catch COVID

So after the ridiculous 5g / COVID conspiracies that are ongoing I’m now seeing people spread information saying that the virus can’t even be caught, or spread from human to human.

Surly the people spreading this and believing this are dangerous to society as they won’t feel like they need to isolate or put their symptoms down to other illnesses?

I’ve already seen countless posts from health groups saying they have dry cough and sore throats and asking for natural remedies and saying it’s definitely not COVID because it can’t be

Hmm

And the rumours like these that are being spread on Facebook - why is Facebook not blocking them or removing them?

Are you for real? Have you watched the news and saw how many folk are infected? How do you think they became infected? Yes there are conspiracy theories, there always will be with big events like this but that’s where common sense comes in...

PineappleDanish · 03/04/2020 13:38

And here you are, repeating them.

pigsDOfly · 03/04/2020 13:40

Yes, and the earth is flat.

And as you can see from my user name, pigs actually can fly.

Orange89 · 03/04/2020 20:24

I don't think there's anything wrong with this post!! I know people who are convinced! No matter what I say ! I guess when the curve (hopefully) flattens , they'll all realise how silly they were Hmm

Orange89 · 03/04/2020 20:26

And yes these will be the silly people not adhering to social distancing !

BeetrootRocks · 03/04/2020 21:02

Yes they may be a bit dim/ gullible
Or just desperate for some hope.

Phrases like 'dangerous to society' are really bothersome though.

NemophilistRebel · 03/04/2020 22:48

Sherloid - I’m not too sure if you’ve read the post? I’m saying how ridiculous and dangerous these conspiracies are.

Unless you are one of the believers , but I was hoping not to have seen any such people on MN

I agree with the op, they are dangerous.

I don't think they're funny, are harmless eccentrics. The flat earth, anti vax, anti science shite they spread is dangerous.

BeetrootRocks · 03/04/2020 23:06

'I don't think they're funny, are harmless eccentrics. '

I don't think this either. I said they may be stupid/ gullible or just looking for hope.

This is stuff op has seen on the net she doesn't know whether they are breaking the law.

Yes the term 'dangerous to society' is bothersome. What should be done about people who are dangerous to society...

These type of stories will stop appearing in your feed if you stop clicking on the links. I'm the meantime, report them to Facebook so they can be taken down.

Mobile phone mast set on fire in Birmingham last night by people convinced by Facebook memes that 5G causes coronavirus

pigsDOfly · 04/04/2020 12:39

Bloody hell some people are stupid.

Amanda Holden, ah yes that well know medical expert and virologist.

Some people haven't evolved from when their ancestors hanged and burnt 'witches'.

AgeLikeWine · 04/04/2020 12:42

The problem with social media is that idiots are allowed access to it.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/04/2020 12:47

My feed just showed up with a not so new one: it is all a plot by Extinction Rebellion overlords....

I thing weird will always out!!!

JudyCoolibar · 04/04/2020 12:57
