Coronavirus without cough?

I'm probably just being paranoid (and tell me if you think I am) and I know nobody can tell for sure but just interested in opinions, happy to be told I'm being silly though!

Symptoms I have had over the past few days -
Upset stomach
Headaches (very unusual for me, I only get them when hungover usually!)
Strange taste in my mouth and the back of my throat, almost a metallic taste but no loss of smell or taste
Pain in chest when I move quickly

I haven't had any of the main symptoms- no cough, fever, fatigue or shortness of breath so I'm inclined to think it's just an everyday illness/run down but is there a possibility it could be coronavirus without any of the most common symptoms? I know it can present differently in everyone.

Hmmm I’m not sure but I’d say it wasn’t coronavirus. Could it be anxiety/stress related?

Daeneris · 02/04/2020 19:51

I don't think I feel particularly anxious/stressed at the moment but that's not to say I'm not, and it could be manifesting itself as illness. I think it's difficult in the current situation not to feel paranoid about everyday illnesses being coronavirus! Grin

Yes, it could be. You're not going to know until the fabled antibody test becomes available. We have been isolating two weeks since my daughter had a high temperature for several days. My husband had fairly classic covid signs - fever, cough, difficulty breathing, fatigue, headache - but has not been tested despite being blue-lighted to hospital at one point. I've been exhausted, barely able to drag myself out of bed, but that's it, sons have been fine. There are supposed to be a large percentage of people that have no symptoms and a further group only mildly affected.

It definitely could be.
I've been speaking to my GP today about my symptoms and he said they are hearing about lots of people with no cough or no temperature. He said they are even seeing people with just gastro symptoms.

I have a 7 year old DS and he seems to be fine, no symptoms all thankfully. I'm looking forward to tests being available so I can know for sure! Hopefully.

I’m not trying to downplay your symptoms but it very easily could just get stress or anxiety from everything that’s happening or just a stomach bug.

In the vast majority of cases CV presents with at least one common symptom or no symptoms at all.

My sister developed a massive rash all over her body because of stress she wasn’t even aware of.

Take care.
