I'm quite happy not going out in public to shops and cafés, but I think one of the things people are finding hardest is not seeing family. When do you think the restrictions on visiting each other at home will be lifted? I see a lot of mentions of schools, shops etc. but not much mention of when people can resume taking kids to see grandparents and so on.

Nobody has any way of knowing this.

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions or insights. Thanks for the contribution though.

When schools are open then hundreds of households are mixing so I would assume visiting would also be acceptable then. Possibly before.
You're right that is the hardest part.

That's the thing - I can't work out the level of risk. If 2 households have self-isolated for say 4 weeks with no symptoms, one or the other could still have contracted it on day 25 at Tesco. But we could get more people back to work before September if family could temporarily assist with childcare.

Apologies @hammeringinmyhead I didn't mean that to sound quite so dismissive, but literally nobody knows.

I do have a real, beating heart under my spiky exterior. Both of my kids live in a different country from me. We are currently on a very strict lockdown here and I desperately want everything to go back to normal ASAP and hug my grand-children.

Let's all hope that it is sooner than we expect.
