Surely this is key with the NHS as the highest priority. Why so slow?

Lack of capacity to produce tests. Lack of distribution. Lack of equipment and chemicals to produce the tests. Lack of co-ordination. Useless people trying to co-ordinate it. Yes, it’s ludicrously slow!

I was a large supplier to government for over 30 years especially NHS and the waste and lack of urgency was staggering. Some of the people I came across were running a cottage industry to justify their own roles. I hope to God they aren’t leading some of these focus groups to get things moving.

The Doctors and Nurses need tests now.

To get out of this we need huge numbers of people to have the tests. They seem to be made by many small companies. It’s said the universities have huge capacity to produce tests, so who is getting them organised with supplies?

It’s similar to the remarks made by Lord King yesterday on the economy - few people organising any of this have any experience of doing it. They just talk about the need to do it. They don’t know how to do it.
