So Before my trip to Lidl , I picked up some of my meds from the chemist. One of the prescriptions they hadn't received so it was a bit of a faff, but anyway it got sorted.

I asked the GP receptionist could I book a telephone appointment with Dr A* W*. I said I need the appointment for next week pls. She said that is fine, no problem at all ...but we cannot book next weeks appointments now. You must phone on a Wednesday or Thursday. So I was like, fine no worries, I will do that.

Bearing in mind I've been alone for over 14 days and most of the time now I keep forgetting what day it is!

So after dealing with the civilian police in Lidl I got home and went to write in my diary to phone doctor on Wednesday or Thursday....only days you are allowed to request an appointment...that was my understanding!

I got the diary out and then I was like "Bejesus!!" Today is Wednesday! I had no idea! So what was the receptionist talking about?! I asked for an appointment. She said that you can only ask on a Wednesday or Thursday. I said that's fine. We gave each other a cheery smile. I got home and realised it is actually Wednesday today.

I mean I don't have job or kids, so to me I find it hard to keep up with what day it is. But what's her excuse?!

I swear, that's it, I'm never going out again Confused

Confused GP receptionist and civilian supermarket police. Yep, I'm staying in now.

Yep. If you've got Netflix I can recommend some nice, frothy box set type things to binge watch.

Once; The Good Witch (and apparently there are 8 - 8!- films as well); When Calls The Heart; Anne With An 'E'....just for starters.

I'd probably stay away from things like the Dublin Murders and Game of Thrones for now though.

But essentially much of the world is now revealing the madness that was always there below the surface. And there's always Terry Pratchett:

“I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?" Death thought about it. CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.”

You said you wanted an appointment for ‘next week please’... was there a way for her to know you actually meant this Wednesday or Thursday?

NellMangel · 02/04/2020 06:53

She did want an appointment for next week @Olawisk, the receptionist told her to phone to arrange this on Wednesday or Thursday? Plot twist: It was already Wednesday.

Hope you get one today OP.

I think we are all in that weird post-xmas type timezone where you just have to stab a guess at the days.

Haha Nell....I think you are probably right! Grin
