Hi all!

I hope everyone is safe and well.

My apologies I don’t know if this has been covered but do we know when this virus is meant to peak or has it already?

I keep hearing Easter being predicted as the peak. Sadly I don’t think we have reached the peak yet. I suspect the numbers will keep climbing Sad

It hasn’t peaked yet no, that’s too early!

We’ll only know for sure once numbers start to drop, right now it’s steadily rising

Scousebird26 · 02/04/2020 01:15

This is so sad. I honestly kept thinking we had hopefully peaked. I wish this was over Sad

Me too, Scousebird. It’s awful seeing so many die each day from this. It will get better, we just have to wait it out Sad

Hopefully we’ll get more information on when peak is expected at the end of the initial 3 weeks of lockdown. At that point the government will hopefully give us an update in another conference and should say whether we’re on track for their herd immunity plan. Unfortunately it’s likely that they will announce stricter restrictions/further lockdown period

Babyroobs · 02/04/2020 01:29

When is the three weeks up. I've lost track ?

browzingss · 02/04/2020 01:49

Think lockdown was officially announced last Monday so another 2 weeks to go

Scousebird26 · 02/04/2020 12:54

Do you think they will put tighter lock down measures down? There is people in my area still going about as though nothing is happening!

Yes if it comes to that, the next steps could be banning outdoor exercise, not allowing non-key-workers to go to work, asking people to provide evidence of where they’re going to police, closing motorways and busy roads with police checkpoints

peajotter · 02/04/2020 19:01

If we are following Italy and Spain then the peak of cases will come approx 2 weeks after lockdown, I.e. next Monday

Peak of deaths is probably a week after that. It’s early days to tell but this is the pattern that has happened/is happening in other countries.

Horsemad · 02/04/2020 19:09

Lockdown was 23 March, so next week is the end of the 3 wk period.

We've almost done 2 wks now, although it is very likely it will be extended.
