CV-19 - what next

So, we all stay in for however long it takes. Transmission rates fall, as do deaths and hospital admissions. But coronavirus is still here, we’re not going to have eradicated it, so what next? Vaccine won’t be ready for a while, certainly not for widespread use. Do we get 6 weeks of freedom then back to lockdown as numbers go up again? I just can’t see an end to this at the moment.

Yes, I have heard that that is the plan. I think the government said this quite early on. But lockdown will be shorter.

Why have you asked this in AIBU when there's a dedicated Corona board?

MarshaBradyo · 01/04/2020 15:04

Antibody test I hope.

Moonmelodies · 01/04/2020 15:08

CV-20, presumably.

lubeybooby · 01/04/2020 15:10

waves of suppression measures on and off til a vaccine is available, just to stop too many people needing hospital at any one time

Pishposhpashy · 01/04/2020 15:12

I think that's pretty much definite, yes.

This OP. The Hammer and the Dance. Until there is either a vaccine or a cure.
