Is posting Easter gifts 'essential'

I think no but just trying to get this point across to MIL who has been to post office to post parcels which I'm cross about.

She is 70 and FIL is 76!

Our local post office is no longer accepting parcels.

My local post office is being absolutely fantastic, operating as a bank, advice service and postal hub. I had to send something to the DWP yesterday (who still won't accept online submissions for disability related matters, believe it or not), and the post office staff were so helpful.

Luckily the queue was short because people weren't sending parcels - usually the place is rammed with eBay sellers and returns. I'm very grateful for the relative quietness.

I honestly don't know about little Easter gifts. I have been thinking of posting a normal letter with a packet of haribo chicks in to a much loved DD who I won't see for a while, as a 'thinking of you' gesture, using a post box and stamps I already have.

But I wouldn't send an unnecessary parcel from a post office, no.

My local post office had a sign saying there was a limit of 5 items, no stipulation what they were but I think that was to keep queues down. I just had some cards that I wanted to check if they could go as a normal letter.

I haven't posted anything for my Dad for his birthday though which is tomorrow, but that is because I do not have anything for him.
