Arsehole neighbours during lockdown

My husband and I are working from home and suffering assaults on our ears from upstairs and next door. They're so bloody selfish.

Yesterday next door was blaring the Stone Roses at full volume and then the twat upstairs came home and was bellowing, slamming doors and generally being awful.

My husband is very sensitive to noise and had to stop working early and barricade himself in the bedroom with white noise playing. I feel so bad for him.

Upstairs lives with his gf, next door is a single bloke (but he had a party just before lockdown). I also discovered that upstairs held a live DJ set on Saturday night. Music was blaring above me into the small hours. He can get quite aggressive too so it's difficult to deal with. Horrible fucker.

Anyone else dealing with nightmare neighbours?

I think we might be the nightmare neighbours. DH let 2yo our to play in the garden at 8am this morning!

Tbf neighbours were in their garden all day until it came to our kids bedtime and then they decided to do some competitive hammering in their home renovation just as fussy baby was about to settle.

No, but have previous with testy neighbours.

Watch for when they go out then Superglue their locks. That’ll teach em Mwahahahahahaha! Grin

Haha that sounds like good revenge. Not that I'd do anything like that Grin

Haven't heard any hammering yet but he's voice is so loud, it could cut through a cake. He's got no volume control, always loud and angry sounding and doesn't give a shit!

Yes I have nightmare neighbours. They usually go out at the weekend and there’s a little bit noise them they come hom nothing major that I can’t deal with. However the whole weekend (whilst her 4 kids are at their dads) her and new bf are up all night and I mean all night drinking then in bed at 11am having loud sex most of the day. Then back to Livingston with tv blaring and shouting/laughing really loudly. Finally all went quiet when the kids came home Monday morning. I can only assume they were on something...cocaine? To have stayed up since Friday making this constant noise. Her overly loud exaggerated laugh was grating on my nerves by Sunday I’d have gladly got arrested for choking her.
My partner is a key worker and was out working but off sat/sun so didnt get a lot of peace.

Back to living room that should read. Smile

Yep, our upstairs neighbours (we live in a maisonette) have 3 kids who are noisy at the best of times but yesterday our ceiling was shaking from them stomping about. They've also had a bonfire every single day so far so I couldn't hang our washing out in the nice weather last week. On top of that he has run a wire down the length of our shared fence which is hanging over our side and it fucking enrages me.

Despite the wire not really affecting me at all, it's just another example of their inconsiderate behaviour and I really want to cut it accidentally on purpose while pruning my imaginary bushes.

Kyliesgoldshorts · 02/04/2020 01:01

@AccioCake what is the wire for? Very weird. Yes I’d be cutting it too Grin

Iwannatellyouastory · 02/04/2020 01:01

Ear phones or headphones when you are trying to work.
Muffle wax earplugs from Boots are my go to for sleeping if there is noise or on holiday etc
Take a bit of wriggling to get comfy but totally block out noise. Boots being a chemist will still be open even during the current lockdown or they do online ordering.

AccioCake · 02/04/2020 01:15

@Kyliesgoldshorts the summer house at the bottom of their garden. We have really long gardens side by side. They live above us so the wire goes out their side window, down to the fence then all along the length of the fence it hangs over our side, with it looped at random intervals on the fence posts, until it goes somewhere off into the summer house I presume. DP thinks it's funny how much this bloody wire winds me up but it's the icing on the cake!

Ugh they're so inconsiderate. Will look into earplugs/headphones thanks. I heard his girlfriend in the bathroom yesterday. I know it was her because there was no stomping around, slamming the toilet lid or loud swearing! Hmm
