When the virus dies down (eg Sept) will restrictions still remain in place for social distancing & large gatherings?

My daughter's are very anxious at getting back to their sporting competions (gymnastics & ballroom) my cousin is getting married & we have concert tickets for October... I'm imagining large gatherings over a certain number will be still be restricted so it won't be "back to normal". Social distance measures may still be in place?
My daughter has a big competion in September & she's practicing so hard at home for it but it may not even go ahead if there are restrictions.
I know things are just awful at the moment & how grave the situation is so please reply kindly, I'm only thinking out loud.

I can't see big gatherings happening for at least six months.

Don't forget that the virus won't 'die down' - as soon as restrictions are lifted, infection rates will rise again. It's not going anywhere until there's either a vaccine or enough of us have caught it that we're immune to it.

I imagine there will be some loosening of restrictions at some point - but they'll be tightened again once the flu season starts, to relieve pressure on the NHS once more.

Yes I'm thinking schools will be back in September but there will be different regulations in place. Reading alot about the 2nd wave so I can't really imagine large gatherings will be allowed this year 😟
