The media has ramped things up a gear lately?

I know we need to know all the bad news, as it also scares people into staying indoors everyday. However today I have read the tragic story about the young 13 year old boy who sadly passed away. Upon reading the article I noted it said he had died ‘with’ the virus and also that there was to be a coroner report.
There have been plenty of articles about the morgues being set up around the country too. The emotive language that’s being used in these headlines and articles is enough to put the fear of god into people. My own mother is terrified currently. I know many others are on the verge of a breakdown because of the constant negative coverage.
The way they report the deaths everyday, but not the recoveries is causing lots of people (my mum included) to think this is killing more people than not.
Each time there is a death of a young person from this it’s reported in such an extreme way as to incite pure panic.
I’m really not being flippant about this or playing it down, I think it’s devastating that these people are dying, particularly the young, but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed the media frenzy lately?

They say died 'with' in quite a lot of reports. I wouldn't read too much in to it. There might be more info in the next couple of days. We all knew that there are occasional deaths amongst the young, so although immesnsely sad for the real people involved, it shouidn't make any difference to how we see the disease or how seriously we take precautions against its spread. Even low risk categories are still at risk.

Yes, there are mature plans for temporary morgues. It sounds a bit grim, and perhaps they won't be needed. But the most at risk group are those who remember the Winter Of Discontent, and the horror of more bodies than capacity of suitable places for them to await cremation or burial. It really must not be allowed to happen again
