My months (Yeah right) furlough started today. I am at home with my DP and my 14yo DD.

Today i :

Slept in til 11.30Blush

Went for a walk with DP and the dogs - Went to local woods - we walked there. Dd at "school"

Came home, finished and submitted assignment.

DP doing dinner, DD downstairs "socialising" on her x-box.

I'm laying in bed mnetting

Financial worries aside - I'm thinking this might help me reset my life.

I'm planning on walking an hour a day, Wednesday is a college day (svn) and watching a webinar a day. Anything else - bonus.

What's your new reality?

I've started doing exercise, and it's really helped my mindset for the day. I just do the PE with Joe Wickes with the kids Blush Wasn't sure i would be able to stick to it, but actually really enjoying it.

Also end the day with a podcast to go to sleep to, to try beat negative thoughts at bedtime.

Trying to limit news intake of the virus too.

Went downstairs to play tag with dd. No garden but a bit of cement which counts as being on the property. Apparently tomorrow we are allowed out for a walk!

Woke up at normal time. Husband and I got dressed. Ate breakfast together.

He went off to the study to wfh. I tidied up.

MN/Social Media/e-mails/YouTube for a while. Then I tried to link the blue tooth wireless headphones I purchased yesterday to the t.v. but it's not got Bluetooth. I will need a distributor thingy.

Anyway, I gave up and did an exercise dvd.

Lunch with husband. He went back to his desk, I tidied up.

I went to the supermarket to get milk.

Came home. Watched t.v. then went for a walk with DH who had logged out of his laptop for the day.

We made and ate tea together. Washed up together. Got a shower then had tea and biscuits in front of the t.v.

Made bread. Very therapeutic kneeling dough.

maddy68 · 31/03/2020 21:27

We have made a schedule. Starts with Joe wicks, virtual tours , lunch. Take dogs for a walk etc

zen1 · 31/03/2020 21:29

The only things that keep me sane at the moment is a long daily walk listening to music and catching up with people on WhatsApp, even just short messages.

Dizzywizz · 31/03/2020 21:31

Yoga with adrienne, that helped me when everything got a bit much

TooTypical · 31/03/2020 21:32

Knitting. (Used to do this, but had half-forgotten. Had to YouTube/text for help with armhole shaping.
Went for a run.
Am teaching myself to play chess online. (Hard to get the checkmating done.)

Speminalium · 31/03/2020 21:38

Sowed parsnips, carrots and radishes in our veg plot, something nice to look forward to. Apart from that, PE with Jo Wicks, homeschooling 3 kids while juggling baby and the general cooking laundry shizzle.

MrsSnitchnose · 31/03/2020 21:41

DS plonked himself in front of the Playstation with snacks so I spent a bit of time on social media and spent the rest of the day working on my Wicca course, interspersed with copious cups of tea and cuddles with the cats and DS

MajesticWhine · 31/03/2020 21:42

Stayed in bed until 9:30
Spoke to my therapist on Skype.
Did some tidying up in my tiny garden.
Playing ping pong on the dining table.
An hour long walk with my lovely DDs and DDogs.
Not much else, but I had the day off. Back to work (at home) tmrw.

Ironing

Dusted, cleaned and tidied every inch of extension.

Hour long walk. Stopped off at Lidl for £25 essentials which I carried back up hill.

Reading. Plan of jobs for tomorrow.

Generally I plan to totally clean, declutter every inch of house, do usual gardening, baskets and plant a few plants. Clear out shed Check on elderly neighbours at least once a week. Have lots of books to read, jigsaws and recipes to try. Good walk or cycle every day. Have a mini circuit to do in garden if lock down tightened, swingball, ball to kick around, star jumps, toning and skipping. Keep in touch with friends using technology and phone calls.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 31/03/2020 21:59

YouTube. It’s providing me with exercise, information, drama, comedy and audiobooks.

What kept me sane today? Got up early as i would do normally. 6am.

I've no need to get up that early at all at the mo - all 6 of us are grounded at home - BUT ... i slept in yesterday (till 8am) for the first time in months and it sounds ridiculous but it fucked me up for the whole day! I was grumpy and felt lost and weird. I was snappy with the family all day. Started arguments on social media in the evening and everything!

Got up at 6 today and i was back to being me. So i'll be getting up at 6am everyday. It appears that's what keeps me sane.

LaneBoy · 31/03/2020 22:06

Disappeared to the bedroom and watched an episode of Liar on the iPad wrapped up in two fluffy blankets.

Titsywoo · 31/03/2020 22:07

Joe Wicks with kids at 9am then started school and followed timetable. They are both secondary so we stick to their schedule and the school have set work. I think they'd go mad without it to be honest.

At 3 the kids took the dog for a walk then I went to my allotment for an hour - it's my haven at the moment!

Kids have been chatting to/playing games with their friends online all evening and I've done some jobs and watched TV with DH.

Getting used to being stuck inside but am worried how the Easter hols will go!

inchoccyheaven · 31/03/2020 22:11

I am cleaning my way around the house and sorting out any drawers and cupboards as I go.
Also not waking up until after 10/11 and watching tv or playing on the wii. Joined in a few online quizzes and going to give goggle duo ago with few friends soon.

It was such an effort today! Made myself get up toddler helped...did a dance workout. Local walk in afternoon. Always feel better after going outside but it feels like a massive effort getting to it. Read abit of my book. Did 3x20mins of revision. 10minutes on the yoga mat.

sadmumbecauseofson · 31/03/2020 22:21

Got up at 630 (early for me). Read my book for an hour, one of many I've started and not finished, which I intend to now to reduce screen time.
Sorted home office out, sorted all paperwork that had been chucked in a cupboard, organised it, threw out what I could, filed the rest
That lead to tidying and reorganising said cupboard.
Recovered my bedroom vanity stool.
Made a couple of phone calls to relatives I care for who are SI.
Looked at pension projection and booked DH and I review appointments to see what best options are for us now we are in our 50's!
Made tea with DH then put feet up and chilled.

I'm loving being at home and finishing all the unfinished jobs. I'm trying to do a room a day!

TwigTheWonderKid · 31/03/2020 22:30

I normally work quite a bit from home and am used to having the house to myself. Now DH is working from home and DSs are home schooling I have found my sanity is being saved by getting up a lot earlier in the morning so I can enjoy some solitude.

WhiteChocTwix · 31/03/2020 22:41

Got up when DH did (about 9am). I applied for JSA, updated my CV and sent it to all my recruiter contacts. (Wishful thinking I know)... Had a 40 min walk with DH at lunchtime, made his lunch as he's WFH. Did laundry and put the bins out. Started making a list for the supermarket on Friday. Had DM and DF on the phone stressed. Watched the press conference at 5. I generally give up trying to be productive once the press conference is done for the day. I also started Jools Holland learn boogie woogie piano on You Tube as I play.
