Hi! Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to make the day 'special' somehow during lockdown?

Luckily Im always thinking in advance and managed to get balloons, banners, presents etc all sorted before this got really serious. I also nipped the local shop today to get some essential bits and picked up a cake whilst I was there too.

The days are dragging atm I have a 4 year old (he's 5 in May) and my youngest DS who's birthday it is tomorrow. I'm doing some homeschooling in the morning with DS1, but the afternoons seem to last forever.

Any suggestions on how to make the day a little different for his birthday?

Oh it's probably worth noting that DS2 has SEN. He can only communicate on a basic level (one or two words max), struggles with concentration so board games are off he cards.

Thanks!

Just have a fun day rather than work.
Biscuits decorating, cake making, make gloop or slime.
Could you make a treasure hunt around the house with clues and a treat at the end. I. E his cake?

Do you have a street WhatsApp group? A street near us had everyone put pictures in their window wishing someone a happy birthday, I bet that made a nice walk for them!

@MARMITEcheese2020
Slime is out as he hates playdoh/slime textures. BUT the decorating biscuits he might enjoy! It's worth a go. Grin

@AnnSmiley No we don't . The majority of the people in the street are elderly. There's only another family with children. That is a lovely idea though!

How about lots of things you wouldn't normally let him do/have like really messy sensory play? Or really noisy singing and dancing.
You could do a zoom chat happy birthday song with some of his friends?
