Cheques to bank

DS received a few cheques for his birthday. His bank (Santander) don't seem to have enabled a remote paying in facility, although there is talk of one on line.

Banks are saying only visit if essential. Is this essential. Long story but the biggest one is some one I couldn't contact to ask them to do it online. You'll have to take my word for that!

He doesn't need the cash now but he wouldn't want to let them go out of date either.

If I had a cheque that needed to be banked and the bank was open I'd go, observing the rules, it's less risky than going to a supermarket.

See if the website has a chat function and ask them. My bank lets me post them in

Or you can do it at some holes in the wall

Can you post it in? When I was a bank cashier we’d often receive cheques with paying in slips in the post, or put through the letterbox by hand when we were closed.
