Is your local Lidl well stocked?

We have 2 Lidl stores locally which I prefer over Aldi just wondering how well people's local Lidl is stocked? Trying to avoid the big as I think they will be busy, we have 5 local Aldi stores but I'm not keen on them at the best of times as they are small and cramped compared to Lidl.

I couldn't get quite a lot of stuff in Tescos last week. Ideally I want to do just one shop a week, but gave in and went to Lidl - like elsewhere no toilet paper, but overall they were a lot better stocked up than Tescos, it's a medium size ine

store

Just back from Lidl. Plenty on the shelves and no queuing.
Passed Waitrose, big queue. But then people probably like to be seen queuing outside Waitrose

Thank you, we have toilet roll as got a 24 pack a few weeks ago. I need to get everything else household and food wisr tho including washing powder and dishwasher tablets. Not looking forward to going one bit to be honest. Would you say 8am when it opens is the best time to go?

My local one had lots of fresh veg and meat and other fresh food. Also had eggs and hand soap. But no loo roll.

SayNoToCarrots · 31/03/2020 14:06

I went at 9:30 this morning. No queue. No eggs, no flour, no chickpeas but everything else was fine.

KonTikki · 31/03/2020 14:27

We go at 1pm -
I don't think there is a good time to be honest.
Deliveries throughout the day, and as I said been twice and
no queues.
Another massive delivery lorry arrived whilst there.

I'd say mid-late afternoon is the best time to go to the supermarkets currently. They seem to have most things, you just have to be a bit flexible and might have to get apples instead of pears, or change your brand of cleaning product, for example

DuncinToffee · 31/03/2020 14:38

Ours at 1pm today was out of fresh chicken and soap, low on fresh pork, bread, flour and toilet rolls, everything else was well stocked.

WhatsWhat456 · 31/03/2020 14:59

Thank you, will brave it tomorrow morning.

Report back on how you got on. I haven't braved supermarket yet. My parents queued for 4 hours to get into Sainsbury's & sister 3 hours for prescription. It's crazy round here.

Toddlerteaplease · 31/03/2020 15:13

Yes. I went shopping at Lidl before lock down and they had everything apart from pasta and toilet roll. Went to the Sainsbury's over the road afterwards and they had nothing. The shelves were bare. Went again on Friday and Lidl had everything and lots of it.

AlohaMolly · 31/03/2020 15:16

I went this morning and they had everything, including big pallets of flour, plain and self raising. Only one gluten free loaf and no GF flour, but I don’t think they have it anyway.

snidgetowl · 31/03/2020 15:22

They had everything I needed on Sunday morning - plenty of hard to get things I didn't need as well such as paracetamol, toilet roll, flour. The only issue was the expiry dates on the fresh veg was a bit too soon for a week's worth of shopping, so I had to change some of the things I had planned to get.

My step dad just called me from Morrison’s, said it wasn’t too bad, had to queue for a bit and was now in the queue to pay with quite a few people behaving him.

I haven’t been in a supermarket for 2 weeks, I’m too scared, if I do go it will be my local Lidl, I’m not brave enough to go to Tesco or Asda.
