Universal credit

I am in the process of applying for universal credit, like a lot of others.
They’ve asked for a form of ID. I have uploaded my driving license, but just realised it has my old address on Blush we moved when I was pregnant and I must have forgotten to do it. We’ve been here a year and 9 months now. Do you think it’ll make any difference to the application?
I could send off for a new license (which I will) but I’m worried it won’t arrive in time, what with everything going on at the moment.
I uploaded my credit and debit card which were both approved as forms of ID too.

They won't accept the driving licence but if credit and debit card are acceptable that will be fine. You could email to explain the driving licence needs updating hence the old address to ensure it doesn't cause any issues. Hope this helps, I work in a benefits environment so wanted to reply asap. Hope you get your claim through quickly.

@cornishbelle Thanks for that, I’ll send off for a new one in case.
Won’t they need photo ID to process the application? I don’t have a passport as I haven’t been abroad in over 10 years.

My daughter submitted docs online and they have been accepted but are now subject to manual checking. Seems to be taking ages so can she do anything the mean time?
@Cornishbelle thanks in advance if you can respond

@CathyandHeathcliff good idea to get it updated, usually they will ask for other bits in absence of photo Id as there are always some without any at all. It shouldnt stop you from getting the claim through

Cornishbelle · 31/03/2020 11:33

@bluerad if it has been more than 7 days I would try to call them but the phones are obviously super busy. The only other thing is double check things they have asked for an make sure you have provided everything. It is frustrating but hopefully won't be much longer, hope your daughters claim is sorted soon.

@Cornishbelle thanks for your reply, it's only been four days so far so we will be patient and I'm sure everyone is working very hard to help with the processing.
