10 days ago I was hit by another car on my way to my friends house.
The car was drivable to the next destination, and the insurers collected the car for repair and I was supplied with a hire car.
Since then we have gone into lockdown. The repair garage called to say the car is fixed and then want to deliver. They can only deliver to where it’s collected- i.e my friends house. I am back home (about 60 miles away). I’ve said that’s fine as I’ve got a hire car.
Can I refuse to give hire car back given we are on lock down? I was shocked that given the situation the repair garage is still delivering cars, but couldn’t be arsed to argue on the phone.
I should not be expected to get to my friends house to pick up my car and drop back hire car in these circumstances.
If I push back with insurance company do you think I’ve got a strong case till after lockdown?
