On a group chat with some close friends, 5 or 6 of us chatting about how we're doing and one casually drops in her mum is coming to their house every other day for lunch and to cuddle/feed/look after the baby, but it's ok because it's 'essential', she needs a break, the mum gets lonely, they don't visit anyone else.

I'm the only one who responded it's not ok, if you are in separate households you can't just pop round for a visit when you feel like it! Everyone else is separated from their families and most of us aren't fucking about, we're not visiting anyone else either and I'm sure plenty of people with babies and kids would like a break occasionally but it's not an essential requirement even if the visitor brings food!

I'm now the dick because she's upset, her mum lives alone and they won't have her move in because they like space so the mum is doing shops to drop things off for them then driving to their house, going in for a nice little visit then driving home.

That situation isn't going to end well for the poor granny.
