CAN I GET FURLOUGH

Sorry if it seems like I’m shouting.

I’m pregnant 22 weeks today and off sick at the moment and due to go back after next week.

I’m terrified about picking up the virus at work and harming my unborn baby/pregnancy and my elderly parents who live at home with me.

I cannot work from home as I am a cashier at a bank.

I don’t know if I can claim or be eligible for the furlough.

I can’t seem to find any information specifically for pregnant woman in 2nd trimester in a similar situation to mine to me, who basically cannot work from home, but govt is advising alternative work/social distancing.

Any help appreciated. Thank you

It’s your employer that needs to furlough you because they don’t have enough work for you because if Coronavirus which they can’t say because they do, they are key workers. Best you can do is go on statutory sick pay. Sorry

Have you asked your HR department?

If your company doesn't have enough work for everyone and needs some employees to stay home, you are an idea candidate for that and could be furloughed.

If your employer has work for everyone (who isn't self isolating) then you don't have a 'right' to be furloughed.

First option - sick pay whole you isolate for 12 weeks (due to being pregnant)

Second option - ask to work from home.
