midwife appointments cancelled

Some people don’t believe it.
Some midwifes I’ve spoken to from other trusts don’t believe it too
They are apparently important for your antenatal care but it’s true,
I’m 31 weeks and have had my appointments cancelled and so do many others I know.

Is this putting women and or their babies at risk or were these appointments unnecessary anyway?

i think given the fast spread of this virus (my brother has it right now, and my cousin who nearly died from it, has just begun recovering)... it appears much safer to stay away from anyone who'll be in and out of houses ... including midwives, cleaners, etc.

and even more if you have to go to the hospital... my sister said we've been asking pregnant women not to come unless they pass by A&E and they get referred
