Number of shops visited in last couple of weeks?

Out of a matter of interest, how many shops has everyone visited in last couple of weeks. Where they successful trips?

19 March - Tescos - fresh food shop and packets/tins for Mum in case we isolate. She had to take what was going, but gratefully received

26 March - Tescos - fresh food shop, no potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, lemon, limited green veg. Had to share 3 bananas and 3 carrots with Mum
26 March - greengrocers on way back, got Mum's lemon, but no other items

29 March - Lidl - desperate for peppers and tomatoes as we all eat them daily, green veg for Mum. Very successful trip as I got all missing veg and more and some eggs

Hopefully I can leave it until end of week now.

Two weeks ago Aldi, Tesco, boots, M&S, Wilkos. Had a pub lunch with some friends. Local cafe for coffee.

Last week - Aldi, Tesco and my corner shop.

I just had to check my diary because going to the pub seemed like a million years ago.

Random18 · 30/03/2020 15:14

1 on March 17th.

Was really busy but managed to get most of what I wanted.

Not been since.

dH has been a few times and we are keeping ourselves ticking over.

He will probably need to go tonight for bread / milk and fruit / veg.

Redda · 30/03/2020 15:16

Just checked my google timeline, last time I went out was 18th March to the local shop

KatherineJaneway · 30/03/2020 15:17

Went out to local shops twice last week; once for bread, once for milk. Food delivery last Friday (booked a long time ago) and that’s it. I never thought I’d miss food shopping!

RedRed9 · 30/03/2020 15:17

Zero.

A friend dropped milk and fruit on our doorstep though.

LoisLittsLover · 30/03/2020 15:26

I don't understand why people are doing separate trips for just bread and milk. Just last a couple of days without it, it's not that hard surely

Chrisinthemorning · 30/03/2020 15:28

I went to Sainsbury’s to collect my Mum’s prescription on 18th March. I have since moved her prescription to a local pharmacy.
DH did a big Aldi shop on 21st March.
We have managed to get delivery since then.

FairyBunnyAgain · 30/03/2020 15:30

Mon 9 March - Sun 15 March daily to M&S or Tesco we had been away from home and the cupboards, fridge and freezer we virtually empty, the D.C. returned from uni so needs their food in too.
Following week DH, me and DD all still working out of the home so went to the post office on Monday, and popped into the bakers for bread Tuesday and M&S on Wednesday.
From Friday 20th I have been wfh, DD has been furloughed and along with DC2 we are all social distancing and only leaving home to excercise and to drop food parcels off to my parents and in laws.
DH is a key worker and has to be on site 2-3 days per week, so he is doing the shopping runs for essential items (Tesco and Boots only) he goes roughly every 3 days, we also had a delivery last week but that might be our last now so DH will have to do a bigger shop.

We are still using online retailers such as Amazon where necessary, thinks like a wifi booster, a laptop stand, plumbing supplies and a mop as the cleaner isn’t coming now.

userabcname · 30/03/2020 15:31

We had one Tesco delivery at the start of lockdown (had been booked ages in advance). Everything there except Weetabix (bizarrely). DH went to Waitrose on Saturday and said the shelves were pretty much fully stocked although he didn't check the loo roll or paracetamol as we didn't need any.

catscatscatseverywhere · 30/03/2020 15:31

Me- zero. DP- 2. Our local coop and small tesco. He leaves house as he’s key worker too. I work from home.

FairyBunnyAgain · 30/03/2020 15:33

DH is going that frequently as getting enough food for 8 adults takes planning with the restrictions, plus whilst my fridge/freezer is more than adequate for normal use I struggle at Christmas and Easter usually and find the same now especially as most of the long life versions are sold out so fresh is the only option.

Innitogether · 30/03/2020 15:35

1 on Friday 27th to Lidl for bread, milk and flowers. Had an Ocado delivery on 25th and they subbed my warburtons bread for a stale Waitrose essentials loaf.

I’m not going out again until I run out of milk (there’s some in the freezer). I reckon some time next week, luckily I’m in a single household.

BrieAndChilli · 30/03/2020 15:35

zero here as been in self-isolation since Wed 18th as DS1 had a very high temp. Have has a couple of milk/bread/eggs/fruit top ups by a friend who has been to supermarket.
Planning to go to supermarket on Wednesday as being furloughed from then so no more WFH and our 2 weeks will be up. Hoping to top up on veg, cheese, fruit etc

user1493413286 · 30/03/2020 15:37

Frustratingly DH has been to more shops than he would usually as we normally get out food delivered and he’s had to visit several shops to find the essentials we need. I think on Friday it took 4 shops to find baby milk.

dorisrainbow · 30/03/2020 15:39

None in 18 days. One Sainsbury’s food shop on sat should last 2 weeks

Mrhodgeymaheg · 30/03/2020 15:41

Far more than I wanted to due to lack of stock, but hopefully will keep it down to once a week now the stock situation is resolved.

Cary2012 · 30/03/2020 15:41

Haven't been this year. We bought the MN chicken for Christmas and we've only eaten a wing so far Wink

BlackeyedSusan · 30/03/2020 15:42

2 weeks ago collected DD from school popped into Nisa. Bought very little.

13 days ago, ex shopped for us. Fresh veg.

Last Friday got a small bag of shopping delivered by someone at church.

Today someone else at church delivered £20 of shopping.

Ninkanink · 30/03/2020 15:45

@Cary2012 Grin we’ve got very little chicken atm - just a couple of lots in the freezer which we haven’t wanted to use yet. I miss it SO MUCH.

Olawisk · 30/03/2020 15:48

Loads, I’m bored so keep eating = running out of food.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 30/03/2020 15:54

Just last a couple of days without it, it's not that hard surely

Why? If I can go to the shop and get it with no contact

I dont eat bread or drink milk. The kids do. Ds is asd. I can always guarantee to get a sandwiche down him, and milk. So either I could go and bulk but bread and milk (whoops no you cant) or go out once every few days, where I dont even go in the shop or see the shopkeeper.

IpeartreeI · 30/03/2020 15:55

Lidl for most of the food etc.

Coop for milk, bread and buns etc.

The farm shop for meat, eggs and cheese.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 30/03/2020 15:57

I don't understand why people are doing separate trips for just bread and milk. Just last a couple of days without it, it's not that hard surely I’ll let you tell that to my 2yo. A loaf of bread/packet of wraps lasts a max of 2.5 days in our house when we’re all here, milk, 2-4 days depending on the size (luckily haven’t had an issue with getting large bottles). We’re struggling to get click & collects that aren’t 10 days apart. Do I just tell them that after 2 days that’s it no more lunches/ milk for 8 days Lois?

CountFosco · 30/03/2020 15:58

Went to the cornershop to pick up some things yesterday.
Tuesday last week went to the supermarket (small one so quiet) to do weekly shop, had to buy less than our normal weekly shop of some products beause of rationing.
Last Saturday walked into town for 9 am because DS (7) announced his shoes were too small, only people in the shop apart from the staff who were cleaning it before shutting for the foreseeable. Also did a final trip to the butchers and bough lots of meat. Busy though so not good but we are in the area with the lowest number of cases. Found a local butcher who is delivering now so that's good.
Supermarket trip the weekend before that. Plus trip to the local shopping centre to get DD1 football boots because her old ones were small and she didn't want to be in lockdown without football boots (normally trains 4x a week).
Before that DH and I were still going into work every day.

We're increasing the deliveries from the milkman and already get a veg box so will hopefully be able to cut down supermarket trips. Trying to get a fruit box with our veg box but riverford aren't accepting changes to orders.

SofieSarah · 30/03/2020 16:00

Zero. Last time we went out, other than extremely isolated walks from our house, was a contactless trip to the tip the day before lockdown started. The last time we had contact with people outside our household was February 28, when we ate a lovely full English breakfast at a pub. Sigh!

We’ve had two grocery deliveries that were booked before lockdown. Our next trip out of our isolated valley will be April 15 for C&C.

I do wonder if we’ll be completely different people if we end up having to be so, so isolated for half a year.
