Post office no longer accepting parcels

Ordered something from eBay. Buyer in UK. Says post office are no longer accepting parcels. Anyone know anything about this please

I took a parcel to PO around 10am today, and it was fine.
Birthday present for DS's fiancee: couldn't visit with her as planned.
