EasyJet is based at London Gatwick airport and has 331 planes. In normal times, it serves 159 airports and 1,051 routes.

Mr Lundgren said the airline had operated its last rescue flight on Sunday 29 March, but would continue to offer further rescue flights "as requested".

The vast bulk of flights to and from the UK have been grounded due to travel restrictions imposed to control the spread of coronavirus, with many airlines expected to seek government help to survive.

We are due to fly with them to celebrate DD's birthday in October. I am pinning my hopes on that still going ahead because everything else is beyond shit at the moment.

All fights cancelled here last week.

It’s been a long time coming

Stop the spread

We are planning to travel with them in May, I don't want a voucher or free change... I just want a refund!

Anyone having the same issue?

GreenTulips · 30/03/2020 11:22

How did you pay?

You can c lain charge back via banks or credit cards

ElephantsFoot · 30/03/2020 11:27

Via credit card, which is a bonus... do credit cards still pay out even if EasyJet are offering a flight change (you still have to pay the difference in flights, which are now extortionate!) or offering a voucher? I don't want either...

I've had same problem, and so have lots and lots of other people - just search the hashtag easyjetrefund to see . They have removed the refund option from login and you have to call them, but then the phonelines are so busy it just cuts you off.

But this morning they did tweet this:

twitter.com/easyJet/status/1244542518987014144

So you have a year to claim your refund if you don't need it right away.

Of course they could just do the sensible thing and put the refund button back online - it does exist as I had one flight cancelled a couple of weeks ago and had that option. They just removed it recently!

It’s failure to supply

The credit card claim it back off the company
