Starting a local help group

Sorry if this has already been suggested many times but Ive seen so many threads from vulnerable people needing help so I thought I would share my experience.

Live in a quiet area. Our road has around 50 houses on it. We put a flyer in every house asking if they would like to be part of our coronavirus help group and to call or text me if they do. We now have 25 households chatting in a WhatsApp group with a further 6 households of elderly people. Neighbours who have never spoken before are speaking daily, offering to help in various ways, I've been out shopping for a vulnerable neighbour and I expect more will need help from the group. If we need to isolate we can ask the group for essentials and there is always someone willing to help.

I hope this post encourages at least one person to do the same.

Yes, we have a road WhatsApp group too.

It has been lovely to get to know all these neighbours we didn't know before and people have been able to help out those self isolating, and generally help out each other even those who aren't vulnerable. It has been a real silver lining to the whole situation.
