Help! Just had massive panic attack

I’m on day 7/8 & was feeling loads better. Went for a walk with DS and been fine & then suddenly had a massive panic attack- felt like my throat was closing, couldn’t cough anything out etc etc.

I’ve had 2 lemsips today and wondered if the active ingredients weren’t helping? I did my bloody pressure & heart rate & it was 122/75 and 72 which all seems normal.

Anyone else had this? My CV symptoms have been heavily around breathlessness/ chest tightness but it was feeling better until about an hour ago. I think I panicked that maybe I am not getting oxygen etc- haven’t had a panic attach for ages and ages.

Can anyone help? I nearly rang 999

I've been the same
Lately panicking that I can't breath.

Think I was worrying ‘what if I am not better’ ‘what if I am really unwell & my lungs are packing up’ - really really horrible

Yes I've been the same this week
Once when I was in a queue and today when I had just read about the symptoms of corona and my chest immediately felt tight and I was struggling for a deep breath.

It's really shit and I bet a lot of people's anxiety is sky high at the moment.

If you're on day 7/8, why did you go out with your DS? Surely he should have been still isolating?

I thought it was 7 days for both of us but just realised I got that wrong 😬 We didn’t see anyone and were only out for 20 mins

How are you feeling now? It may have been a panic attack or it may be actual symptoms of the illness, many people say they come and go. It sounds like you still need to be resting.

@ChipolteBlessing I feel a bit calmer - I have been fine all day and my chest mostly feels clear lower down. My upper chest & throat feels a bit congested tho which is what caused the panic attack i think. God I just want to be well again

I've felt exactly the same. Had a sore throat 9 days ago. Things escalated from there. The sore throat turned into a dry cough, which turned into pains in my neck and shoulder blades. On Wednesday the panic attacks started as my symptoms turned to breathlessness (a combination of the fact that I'm ill and the severe panic attacks.) Spoke to a doctor on the phone, who prescribed me an inhaler and antibiotics (I had pneumonia a few years back so the antibiotics were prescribed as a precaution just in case what I have turns bacterial.) Wednesday night I had a major panic attack and they've been rolling ever since. I can't settle, I can't think about anything else other than the 'what ifs' of the Coronavirus. I feel like I'm just sat here waiting to be hospitalised, which sounds crazy but that's what the panic monkey does to you; it gives you the worse case scenario and convinces you that it WILL happen. Friday and Saturday things were looking up; I started to feel better. Then today happened... Woke up not being able to breathe as freely as the past two days (much like my symptoms on Wednesday.) Naturally, I had another panic attack tonight. I'm at my wits-end. I'm exhausted physically and mentally (I can barely string a sentence together TBH.) I'm feeling better the one day only to wake up the next feeling like I've taken ten steps back again. All this fear is ripping me apart. Just hope my symptoms subside soon and my panic decreases.
